Rwanda exported 1 billion Frw tea in one week
The Agency for the Promotion of Exports of Agriculture and Livestock (NAEB), announced that last week Rwanda exported tea worth over 1 billion Frw.
NAEB data shows that from March 18 to March 24, 2023, a total of 471 tons of imported tea was sold for $1,270,752.
This tea was sold the most in the countries of Pakistan, England, Kazakhstan, Iran and Egypt, where a kilogram was sold for an average of 2.6 dollars.
Vegetables, fruits and flowers were exported last week in the amount of 366 tons, which were sold for $742,028, where a kilogram was sold at an average price of $2.
The countries to which most vegetables, fruits and flowers are sent are the Democratic Republic of the Congo (RDC), the United Arab Emirates (UAE), the United Kingdom, the Netherlands, the United States of America and France.
Coffee exported last week weighed 127.5 tons, earning $500,582, with an average price of $3.9 per kilo. It has been sold extensively in Switzerland and the UK.
Animal products such as meat exported last week earned Rwanda $266,001, beans, grains and flour earned $2,121,018.
Potatoes earned $277,911, beverages earned $557,781 and other agricultural products earned $116,910. It is mainly exported to DRC, Sudan and Oman.
