Rwanda has launched a new institute that will help young people to make use of Rwandan culture and heritage through technology

Rwanda Heritage Hub was launched in June 2020, in collaboration with the Cultural Council and the Organization for the Conservation of Cultural and Heritage Resources [ICCROM].
It is a company that currently operates in four African countries including Rwanda, Senegal, Kenya and South Africa

The Rwandan Heritage Hub, in foreign languages ​​”Rwanda Heritage Hub”, is a joint program of the Cultural Assembly, and the International Center for the Study, Conservation and Restoration of Cultural Resources (ICCROM) in order to bring together young people the opportunity to gain knowledge and skills of Rwandan heritage and culture.
One of the projects being carried out by the Rwandan heritage shelter is to support the projects of Rwandan to create jobs based on the development of cultural heritage.
The students who will be given the Heritage and Culture course in kinyarwanda say that they are going to take the lead through various projects that promote Heritage and Culture and use technology to reach further

     The first students are in the pilot production of the Rwanda Heritage Hub

Some 40 students will be given knowledge about the heritage of Rwanda and they will contribute to its preservation and say what they are going to do to make use of this knowledge.
The Director General of the Cultural Council, Ambassador Robert Masozera thanked the young people for their hard work and determination to produce the heritage and culture of the country, in order to develop it.

He returned to this on January 31, 2023 at the inauguration ceremony of the Rwanda Heritage Hub, which aims to teach young people how to produce the heritage and culture of Rwanda using technology

Amb Masozera told the youth that the country will continue to support its projects especially related to culture and heritage.

He said, “The country is proud of you. You are the youth that Rwanda wants. With your cooperation, this center will be productive and inspire another class of young people to study here

The Director of ICCROM stressed that the Rwanda Heritage Hub is a good way to create jobs and reduce unemployment

The Director General of the Society for the Preservation of Cultural and Natural Resources, Dr. Webber Ndoro, said that this is a good way to fight unemployment, especially among African youth.

He said, “We are starting the project of these institutions in Africa, we wanted to bring something with a difference that will allow the youth to work to develop them but is connected to the culture and heritage of Africa.”

He went on to say that it is a project that they want to reach other African countries.

The Council of Culture says that many people, especially young people, consider heritage as ancient things that can only be kept in museums. On the other hand, there are opportunities for productivity that a person can use to improve themselves.
